My husband and I both enjoyed reading this book.No, it's not a book specifically about the rules of blackjack etc...but it is an interesting and fun story to read. I like the fact that the author is NOT a professional card player, but rather someone who knows the basics of the game and some good tips for winning and put it all together to win BIG during one weekend at a casino.I'm giving 4 stars as some of the spelling is a bit off here and there, including on the cover. Blackjack as a game is one word, not two. No big deal but could have helped with a more professional presentation overall to correct these small errors.Recommended!Geraldine Helen Hartman, author
In my opinion this man has a natural and highly evolved "emotional intelligence". His "logic" and " reason" and "rationale" is of the kind and quality that other people might consider "magical" or "intuitive". I am not sure how many readers would recognize the quality of what is being transmitted here, and the kind of experience that could definitely help I feel in learning and playing blackjack IF the person is willing to do what it takes to really know how to play blackjack properly. Which I expect few people are. If only for the discussion on how to determine intuitively the "obvious" swings when the cards are for you and when they are against you this book is worth it. And the story is one I will remember for the rest of my life. Best blackjack book I ever read. The previous best blackjack book I ever read is "Burning the Tables in Las Vegas". Although this book is short, it's conciseness doesn't mean it misses out on giving you a whole picture of what it takes to play blackjack well. Thank you Stanley Crimson for writing this book and sharing your story. Well written too I felt.

I've read a lot of gambling books in my life, and this one ranks pretty far down the list. The writer's entire strategy seems to boil down to: "You need to recognize when the cards turn in your favor" and bet big on those hands.In the course of explaining this strategy the author manages to contradict himself every few pages. He writes several times about how playing perfect strategy is vital, then later explains why he hates splitting Aces and 8s against face cards. He writes how it's a terrible idea to play an extra hand or two in the middle of a run of good cards for the dealer, because it just means playing more hands that are sure to lose (since it's impossible to alter a run of cards good for the dealer), but then writes how it's a bad idea to play an extra hand or two in the middle of a good run of cards because it "changes the dynamic of the table." Not to mention why he believes that "the first seat is the one that loses the most hands" or how he received thousands in merchandise comps after a few hours of blackjack at his first trip to the casino.The book basically reads like the advice of somebody who had a lucky few runs at a casino, and is now ready to explain to you everything you need to know about blackjack.
