I have started a yearly Bible plan many times - let's face it, they can be tough to stick with. However, this book really helps for someone with my personality type. Brief descriptions at the beginning of each week will help you anticipate what you will be reading, as well as gather some highlights about the passages. Not only does that help me know what I can look forward to - it helps me make a mental note when I cross some of the thresholds that these will be passages I will want to remember down the line.A year is a long time, but it also goes by very fast. The Bible has so much depth and breadth that a year of reading it is still daunting - this book is really helpful in overcoming some of that, and helping you stay motivated and disciplined.
This book has a great intro that explains how the book was designed and how to best use it. I love the fact that it simply provides you an outline of what to read for the week and gives you a few things to look for in your reading. It serves as a great tool to keep you on track!
This has been a great bible study guide for me and my twin daughters who are 11. I love how the author mixes the old and new testament readings, gives things to look for in each chapter, and gives space to make notes in the book itself.
I have never been involved in a bible study and trying to read the Bible seemed overwhelming to me. This book has made all of the difference! I am using it with the Life Application Study Bible. I like the way it meshes the old and new testaments and I look forward to my daily devotions. If I miss a day, it is always there the next :-)
Not as informative as I want, basically just tips to do groups. The rest is very simply reading the chapters and a few questions to ponder.
I was looking for a daily Bible reading guide and came across this one. For the price, I thought why not? Let’s try it. I’m so glad I did! She has it broken up into about 3 chapters a day. With each week, she has a short chapter intro for that week’s reading and some thought questions (they are the same every week). It starts with Genesis then goes to Matthew then Exodus to Mark and so on. I like the variety of seeing God’s promises fulfilled through Jesus. So if you’re looking for a daily reading guide, this one is great!
It took me a bit longer than a year to finish this reading plan. I wasn't expecting to jump from OT to NT but I still enjoyed thisbreading plan and the book itself with its quotes and the insights and previews into the books or chapters I was abouy to read. Highly recommend for a first time Bible in a year reader like I was.
This is a great guide to get you reading the Bible - I am way ahead as she breaks it down so well. Certainly not just for women though as my husband can read this too.
