I love this book! I did not intend to purchase it, but the ad made it sound interesting. I am so glad I did. The verses match the melody of the song and are child friendly and appropriate. One example shows a lonely boy watching other children play. The main character invites the boy to play which of course cheers him up. My husband and I sing it to our 22 month old each evening, taking the time to point to the pictures as we sing the verses in the book. She loves this book and will carry it everywhere; in the morning she'll sing the chorus to her stuffed animals and 'read' it to them. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful; even if you weren't familiar with the song, the pictures alone would engage you.While the main characters are black, the book is highly inclusive. I thoroughly recommend this book.

The text of this book is fun and child-friendly, with a rhythm and message that my toddlers enjoy. It does a great job showing a variety of emotions and feelings as normal and part of a regular day, and of course there's the natural appeal if you like the original song. The illustrations are a true highlight of this book, though — the mixed media is great, and I love the representation of the child's parents, who seem like interesting people in their own right. The quality of the book I received from Amazon is more like 3 stars, with wear around the edges, a noticeable gouge and scratch on the cover, and some minor warping of the pages so it doesn't lay completely flat. Not a big deal in my household since my kids are hard on books, but I wouldn't be willing to give this as a gift, and it reminds me why it's usually worth the extra 75 cents to buy board books from our local bookstore or directly from the publisher.

I bought this for my dear companion of the last decade and he died suddenly the day it arrived. He never saw it, but somehow, Every little thing is gonna be alright. Thank you for the comfort.

I'm a huge Marley fan and I absolutely love this book! Super cute pictures and it's fun to sing while reading it to my daughter. The art work is great and I love that it's so full of diversity. I'm not a huge fan of the new verses but only because they're hard to sing and I feel like I cant read this book without singing the words haha!

I have been singing "Three Little Birds" to my son since he was born. Now that he's approaching 2, this book is a wonderful extension of something he's been hearing every day. I like that it goes a step beyond the lyrics and teaches lessons about inclusion, friendship, making mistakes, and forgiveness. The illustrations are bright, cheerful, and engaging. I love how there are little references to Bob Marley tucked throughout; you can tell this was his daughter's loving tribute to him.My son and I both love reading this, and he regularly asks for it by name. Beautiful book.

This is such an adorable book. My kids love the original song, so I thought my 3 year old would get a kick out of this book. He does! The words match the melody very closely, unlike some books we've had based on songs where the beat is all messed up. I usually sing this instead of just reading it, and he loves it. Bedtime song and story all in one! The illustrations are really colorful, and my son loves to discuss what is happening on each page (why is the boy sad? what is he doing in the kitchen? etc). Very well done book.

Received One Love as a gift, big favorite. I ordered this book based on Three Little Birds. My grand daughter loves both and knows the songs. Big Bob Marley fans! Each book represents family, unity, cooperation, and understanding. Moral to the story that a little child can grasp. Lovely!

Of all the books that I have read, my favorite are those that stick with me after I have finished. You know those books right? The ones that make you wonder, envision, try to work out how the ending happened, dissect any and all clues you may have missed? Well The Second Wife is one of those amazing stories. Kishan Paul has hit a home-run with this suspenseful masterpiece!I guess I wasn’t entirely sure what I was getting myself into but lets put it this way. I started the book last night, at like 11:00 pm. I intended to just open it, make sure it loaded alright and then go to bed. Well 2 hours later I had to pull myself away from my Kindle so I could get some sleep, only to wake up and pick the story right back up. I finished early this afternoon. I could not put this book down! I was completely absorbed and what a story to get sucked into. The writing was so fantastic and the details so rich that I felt like I was there. Now mind, this is a suspense novel and what comes with that is the whole “on the edge of your seat” feelings. I was so engrossed that anytime my boys interrupted me, you know with requests for food and such, it was like pulling teeth to get me out of the story. Wow what a ride!I am not into spoilers so I’ll give no specifics just my overall impressions of the story which was that it was amazing and so powerful that my heart ached in places, I wanted to cry at times, I raged and I cheered in others. It is dark and scary at times, it is a story of survival, taking your life back, sacrifice and enduring. I almost needed a drink after it was over because I was so invested. I love stories like that, I really do. Kishan has wonderful details. Not only are the physical descriptions there, so that you can really envision the characters, the surrounding etc. but their emotions are felt by the reader. You root for some, hate on others and feel their feelings. Simply awesome. I applaud her for keeping the it real. The subject matter is sensitive and instead of sugar coating it, she made it realistic and for a fiction novel, this was refreshing.I would highly recommend this story, it was amazing, griping and moving. A fantastic read and it is release day… go grab it!*I was given an ARC for an honest review

To say it’s a page turner is an understatement, this is a book that will toy with your emotions, mess with your head and make you thank god that you did not have to endure what Alisha did.Alisha is a 28 year old married psychologist. She is kidnapped by a client and taken to Pakistan to live as his second wife. Her name is changed from Alisha to Sara. Alisha knows she has to do what she has to do to survive, in a male dominated country, she knows she has to keep her head low and her mouth shut, but what she sees and experiences, will change her life forever.Dave, Alisha's husband, is heartbroken when he finds out that his wife has been kidnapped and goes into mourning. He doesn’t know who took her, where she has gone and its heart-wrenching, until the day he gets the knock on the door and the visitor informs him he knows where Alisha is but they have hurry, time is not on her side. One day he gets a visit from someone claiming to know the whereabouts of Alisha.I liked that the story was told in the POV of Alisha and her husband Dave, it gave more of a powerful feel. This book is definitely a book I would recommend to everyone.My rating 5.0 out of 5.0

Kishan Paul shows her range in this psychological thriller set in Pakistan. Her debut novel Blind Love was a contemporary romance with a hint of suspense. The Second Wife is a full-on thriller with a hint of romance.Ally is a psychologist happily married to surgeon David in Philadelphia. She has no idea that one of her psychotherapy clients, Sayeed, is an arms dealer hell bent on having her as his wife. He abducts her and steals her away to Pakistan where he forces her to become his second wife (love the title, by the way). This story line is about as horrifying as it can get for any psychologist--for any woman, really.Sayeed is one of the most vile villains I've met. I cringed every time Ally mentions his sour breath or groping hands. I wanted to kill him.Meanwhile, Ally's husband David is going crazy from grief. When a man approaches David with an offer to help his wife, he'll risk everything to get her back.The story feels gritty and real. There's no easy happy-ever-after when you're ripped from your home and repeatedly raped and beaten. But there is a peek into Ally's resilience, and keen psychological insight into the effects of trauma:"This emotionless, not-needing-anyone kind of person you're truing to be is probably how you survived, and I get that. But I know you and no matter what you say, you're not getting rid of me."I loved the characters of Ally and Nasif, as well as the intriguing backstory behind a suicide bombing.Well done, Kishan!

This was an audio I did not want to stop listening to you. Every time I started and then had to stop I tried to find ways to prolong my commute or sneak extra time while folding the laundry and doing dishes. It’s an emotional story about the strength of love. The courage of not just the main character but all the supporting characters that’s proof that even when beat down if there’s love, there’s hope. The narrator did a great job of conveying the emotions through the timbre and nuances in her voice that where so necessary to keep me fully engaged. The author did a great job of character development and backstory. I did feel the ending was a little drawn out compared to the first 2/3 of the book. I understand the need to unfold the emotions of the process needed for the resolution but felt the audio change speeds unnecessarily. A great listen that I would highly recommend.

This author is normally an auto-buy for me. And I stupidly bought this book in advance, before I could read any reviews.But I have to say I found this book very disappointing, full of overused tropes, clichés, and cookie-cutter villains. I feel that the author wrote this one on auto-pilot. It was nowhere near her usual high quality.As a few reviewers have mentioned- I too found the heroine to be intolerably timid, boring, wimpy, and downright stupid (particularly in her submissive behaviour with her dastardly parents and elderly suitor).The author tried to create a painfully shy heroine- but went too far and ended up with a totally spineless, timid and unappealing heroine.I also found the hero to be quite underdeveloped- we got a little bit of backstory and angst about his past and disability. But despite the "emotionally scarred hero" trope, he lacked intensity.The romance itself felt very lukewarm and lacked any intensity. And it felt unrealistic that he would fall instantly for this unappealing timid heroine.Their relationship seemed to be more about expediency than love.Finally (SPOILER ALERT).I found the insane asylum storyline to be utterly absurd. Given that he is famous and possibly the richest man in NY, it would not be so easy to have him comitted without a hearing or some defense.I mean the whole thing was ridiculous and totally implausible.I'm sorry to say- Joanna Shupe has lost a fan, and I really hope this poor quality book was an aberration.

I love historical romances! I’ve read all of this author’s books and liked them, even loved some. This book was a great big disappointment for me. The premise was mildly intriguing - debutante and neighbor make a marriage of convenience only to fall in love. The heroine, Lady Christina, was my least favorite aspect of the book - pretty and kind but hyper-shy and meek. The hero, Oliver, was also unappealing - handsome and wealthy but reclusive. They had very little chemistry and no sizzle. The storyline was dark and darker - parental mistreatment, gambling debts, fraud, blackmail, bribes - every part of this story was miserable, and the not-credible love story at the middle of it was completely overshadowed. It’s hard to believe this book was written by the same author. Overall, a big disappointment, and I’ll cross my fingers that the next book in the series will be better.

Will they realize they are exactly what the other needs?Enter the cousin who wants what Oliver has and Christina’s parents looking to line their pockets. Add in a good dose of Gilded Age politics, graft, and corruption, and you have a story that touches your heart, and makes you fume with anger regarding the treatment people who are ‘different’ must endure.Ms. Shupe has done her homework regarding ‘handicaps’ in the Gilded Age. Women were sent to asylums for what we now think of as frivolous reasons. Men were as well. If you weren’t like everyone else, you must be an imbecile! I loved reading the history of ASL and schools for the deaf. Excellent information.

I very much enjoyed this novel! As many other reviews have pointed out that the heroine is timid and easily walked over by basically everyone. I find that I liked this because I identified with the heroine. I thought it was realistic for a 19 year old girl, who is still dependent on her parents and has been abused, at least emotionally, by her mother for her entire life to be a bit timid. Her small rebellions lead her to becoming stronger, but it was not an overnight thing. I really enjoyed that Christina recognized she had a problem, as did Oliver, and that in the end they worked on overcoming those faults.I thought the romance was sweet and that they bonded over the fact that she was willing to make accommodations for Oliver when his experience with the world was that he had to accommodate for everyone else! This novel was a refreshing change, and that although the heroine may not have been a brave, go-getter from the beginning, it still had the same elements of a young girl coming into womanhood and finding happiness and her place in the world. Many novels feature the heroine we want to be, whereas in this novel I felt that the heroine matched who I was at 19.

I have a busy house with a husband and three boys. The only peace and quiet I get...time for myself...is when I get in the tub. This book was tub reading. Once I got into it, however, it became "Got to find out what happens!" reading. It starts off slowly, but it gains momentum as you flip a few pages. I'd say this is a really good book to hunker down in a chair and make yourself a coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, and READ!

Won't buy or read any more of his stuff. I bought the Harriet Blue series because I kinda liked the Womens Murder Club books. I won't waste time or money on "to be continued" stories no matter how exciting they might be. And the Harriet Blue stories got more frustrating as they continued. I suppose some people really like the evil characters and fear and peril being the stars of the stories. To me that doesn't make a murder mystery worth reading, and these weren't.

Harriet Blue is on the hunt for her brother's nemesis, Regan. She has gone off the reservation and is pulling out all of the stops to seek justice for her brother, Sam. Harriet has to use all of her skills to find Regan, bring him out of hiding and end his life. She realizes she is putting her career and freedom on the line but does it anyway. She doesn't count on Regan deciding to play games with her. He taunted her up until the end. It was an interesting dynamic these 2 had. Harriet is left to question her true self and, at times, she doesn't like what she sees. Overall a good read and an interesting ending. Am intrigued to see what happens next.

Loved the latest update on the Harriet Blue storyline. Good read and very good storyline. Glad she caught the bad guy. Recommend highly.

I returned after reading 10 pages. Didn't even make sense the police were shown as either clowns or rogues. I think maybe Patterson wrote the first chapter then turned it over to the other author and it was down hill from there. If there was anything as no stars this is what I would have given this book.

The more of his books I read, the more of them I like. I simply can't get enough of them

This is the worst JamesPatterson book I have TRIED to read!

Patterson's stories of Harriet Blue are a different twist from his other lead characters. Based in Australia, the Blue novels are the usual fast and good reads. Amazon's delivery of the book was timely and the packaging was good.

I loved this book; Louis L'Amour was an extraordinary man, not because he could tell a good story, though he certainly could do that, but because he had a great thirst for knowledge and he spent his entire life on a quest to educate himself. His education came not from school, but from his life experiences and books. Wherever life took him, and he traveled all over the world as a seaman, he listened to the local people, he sought out their stories, and he sought out books, books that would tell him of people, of places, and of history.In this book he talks of that education and he tells of the many hundreds of books he read. He did not read because he had a school assignment he had to meet, he read because he had an inexhaustible desire for knowledge and understanding; he read for depth and breadth of understanding.This is the third book I've read this year where the author spent many years developing his education through a reading agenda outside of a traditional university course of study leading to a degree. The others are Nassim Nicholas Taleb, his book is Antifragile: Things That Gain from Disorder, and Oliver DeMille, his books are A Thomas Jefferson Education: Teaching a Generation of Leaders for the Twenty-first Century, and The Coming Aristocracy. Each of these authors embarked on a course of study much broader and deeper than would ever be provided by a university course of study. I wish I had done this many years ago; I'm doing it now. These authors are seeking an education not job skills, and wisdom not credentialed favoritism. They promote becoming informed and developing the courage to act rather than complacency.

Lots of little nuggets of joy in here. I didn't know much about Louis L'Amour before reading this, afterwards, I don't know how much I know but I liked what I saw. I was a book addict but L'Amour puts me to shame. Like me growing up, he had a book in his pocket constantly and read whenever he stood still for two minuetes. Unlike me, he left home, had adventures, saw the world while doing it.That's the other fascinating thing about this book: it opens a window to a world that's gone for good. L'Amour actually met some of the men who tamed the West, he listened to him, absorbed their stories, saw the land. This book, and all his books, are a link to those times. I'm way to fond of my comfort to even try what he did, to live by my wits and from the strength of my back. But he did, he really lived his life.There isn't a lot about his private life, his loves, his emotional development. He just suddenly is married and has kids with no mention of the woman or how they met. There a number of strange voids here, but this one stands out considering how much a woman can teach a wandering man or a non-wandering one. But then, there's a midwestern prudishness that seems to be a part of his core, which is fine. Not everyone is a libertine or even wants to be one.A major part of the book is a discussion of what he read and what he thought about it. Trivia, sure, but interesting. It's not a bad booklist for any self-educated person. Got me interested in Livy, which I've added to my Kindle library (Technology is cool).Lots of little tidbits I enjoyed, like how to fight four men at once...something that came up in his early life more than once, it seems. Or what it's like to survey a mine or why you have to shoot rabbits or starve if you live off the contents of your garden. The details stand out, like little scenes that are self-contained and isloated.One thing, though the book is worth a read, it was published posthumously and with minimal edits, I suspect. So there are repeated phrases and thoughts and oftentimes there will be tangents that don't seem to serve any purpose. If the man had lived to revise and publish it himself, I'm sure it would come out differently.

I will say, honestly, that I am not familiar with this writer or the other books he's written. Amazon suggested this book and the reviews seemed promising. I must say that I really didn't care for the book. It had a few paragraphs worth highlighting and I did like the general premiss. It was inspiring to hear of a man's life, which was spent adrift in the world, traveling here and there. It gave inspiration to me to read much more than I do and really opened my mind to the importance of the written word, not just for education, but to tell the story of "us" and our lives and history. He made a point that touched deeply for me. My parents just passed away and in going through their stuff we unearthed some pictures of my great great great grandparents and even some land deeds from further back to the 1830's, to the first generation of my family that came to the united states. I found this material so interesting, but there is nothing of substance to tell me what these relatives were like or what their struggles were. Louis L'Amour touched on how important the written word is to us and our story and I can't agree more. My biggest criticism of this book is that the story of his life seem to be in random, rambling order and throughout the book there are paragraphs of what he read at the time. It gets a little old after a while...i mean we get it, you read everything, twice. So, as I said, it's a so-so book in my opinion but that's just me.
